One day with the sami people.

I always hope that i can bring photographers to do a session when the Sami peole gathering the Reindeer. It’s not easy and i have done it only once before. Why is this difficult?

The Sami people do not know about the winter/weather condition and that meens they are not sure when the Reindeer is in the fence. They have the reindeer in there only for one day.

But i know the leader of the Sami people and i am calling him every winter. Lots of photographers ask me “ is it possible to see the Reindeer when the Sami people have the animals in a fence” I must always say - we would need a lot of luck.

So 3 weeks ago i send the leader of the group an SMS, how are you doing with the Reindeer? Could you call me? Fourteen days later, a Sunday evening i got an SMS from him. “ You can come tomorrow!!” So i went down to the group of photographers i had from Reisen-in-die-nature, Joachim Griesingers group, and asked them. “ Should we let the eagle sleep tomorrow and would you like to have a day with the Sami people?” I also said that this is just like to win in a lottery!!

I could just see how the smile got wider and wider So next day we went earlie and had a wonderful session with them. I normaly do not take pictures with my guests but in this kind of situation it’s possible and they said that they would be happy if i took the camera with me.

So with my Nikon, who is almost sleeping , i could have a great day with the Sami people and my happy guests. And with Reindeer is fun to do so arty farty.What a day. I know a few other Reindeer owners around and i must try to get in touch about the possibilities to do this more than once. I know lots of you would like to go!!

RIP Troj

Så var det bare en hund da.

Var det BARE det?

For oss var Du en hvalp,en unghund og til slutt en voksen herlig hund, et medlem av familien.

Men så var det slutt.

Tårer kommer hos oss alle, det var ikke bare en hund men en venn.

Ditt skakke hode når du følte noe var på gang.

Din yre glede når matmor tok på seg bergansbuksa.

Din forbannelse over rever som skriker i Februarnatta.

Blikket.

Krafsing i matfatet når du syntes det gikk for tregt.

Om det var en time eller en uke så var gleden over gjennsyn like stort.

De hengende ørene når du fikk kjeft for okkupasjon av sofaen.

Din higen etter å spise ferske ryper som til slutt gjorde at hagla ble skiftet ut med fiskestang.

Kampen mot Jussi i Lakavatnet.

De fine stundene ilag med oss idet sola gikk ned på Folla.

Man kan kalle det bare en hund men du var en alle tiders venn.

Derfor tårer.

Derfor savn.

Men vi har ønsker om en ny.

Men Troj glemmes aldri.

Takk for besøket.

Troj passed away yeaterday. Only a Dog would some say but not for us, he was a friend and a member of the family. Tears and tears. That is how we feel just now. Good boy!!

2012

Just to tell you that everything is good here in Flatanger.

January

Thank you all, you make it possible for me. Have been a good year for my family and me. One of the reasons for that is because i can have the best work you can think of, meeting so many great people during the year.

February

Now there is time to start a new year. The first guests arrive the 4th Jan. Winterbookings are very good and so the birds and mamals.

March - Shooting grouse in the mountains.

April - Cod dinner.

This autum i have been working hard to get the Pine Martin available. Looks very good and i am feeding this beautiful animals 3 times during the week.So in spring i have to build a hide or two. Realy looking forward to get this ready before spring.
